Meet Our Founders

Blue Tea was founded by technologists Georgios Michalakidis and David Savage with a simple aim: build software that works well and looks right doing it.

We work closely with our clients, stay involved from start to finish, and treat every project as something we’re personally responsible for getting right.

David Savage

David Savage is a seasoned entrepreneur and technology strategist with a proven track record of building innovative, customer-centric businesses. With over two decades of experience spanning audio-visual engineering, software development, and online safety innovation, David brings a rare blend of creative insight and commercial acumen to every project.

David began his entrepreneurial journey in 2004 when he founded AVolution, a multi-million-pound, award-winning audio-visual company inspired by his early work in technical theatre production. Under his leadership, AVolution delivered cutting-edge AV solutions to prestigious clients including the Royal Household, BBC, NHS Trusts, PokerStars, Compare the Market, and the City of London.

In 2014, David co-founded Blue Tea with Georgios Michalakidis, driven by a shared vision to simplify business automation and mobile technology. Blue Tea stands apart by combining technical excellence with a deep commitment to purpose-driven innovation. The company not only builds scalable, user-first software solutions but also invests in technologies and ventures that make a meaningful impact.

David’s strategic mindset and passion for product design allow him to see the bigger picture while staying laser-focused on what drives growth. His cross-functional approach to business transformation connects marketing, sales, operations, and customer experience – ensuring that every solution is aligned with real-world business goals. Whether working with Web2/Web3 technologies, AI, machine learning, or mobile platforms, David ensures that every tool is applied with precision to maximise ROI and long-term value.

In 2021, David joined forces with Alice Hendy MBE to launch Ripple Suicide Prevention, a charity born from personal tragedy and committed to transforming online safety. As CTO, David leads Ripple’s technology innovation, leveraging Blue Tea’s resources to develop AI-powered tools that intercept harmful content and guide users toward support. Ripple is proudly supported by Blue Tea through both financial contributions and pro bono development.

David continues to champion technology for good, combining entrepreneurial drive with a deep sense of purpose. His leadership at Blue Tea ensures that every client benefits from strategic clarity, technical excellence, and a genuine commitment to making a difference.

Georgios Michalakidis

Dr. Georgios Michalakidis is a technologist, entrepreneur, and founder of Blue Tea Software, where he leads projects that combine business analysis and technical expertise to design and build software that fits each organisation’s needs.

He holds a PhD in Computer Science and has over twenty years of experience in software engineering, data systems, and product delivery. Georgios has served as Group CTO at Perkbox-Vivup, where he led large-scale technology programmes across SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and data analytics, including multiple successful acquisitions.

Over his career, he has founded and grown several ventures – including Thoughtified, ManagePlaces, and My Money Matters – and contributed to European Commission Horizon 2020 research in artificial intelligence and data-driven innovation. Most recently, Georgios is heading AI R&D at R;pple Suicide Prevention, an ambitious project aiming to classify online information as safe or harmful in support of the charity’s wider mission of promoting online safety.

At Blue Tea Software, Georgios focuses on practical technology consulting and solution design – from custom software to tailored COTS implementations – helping clients create reliable, scalable, and well-fitted digital systems.
