Our R&D Services
As part of our Research and Development (R&D) services we are conducting business analysis, innovation research, and reporting for our clients. On reporting, we also provide assistance to organisations in terms of their technical narrative (e.g. R&D tech reports) on any innovative or novel work that has been developed and delivered through us as their partner. The process can make use of HMRC’s R&D Tax Credit scheme, which is facilitated by our in-house experts as well as specialist accountants who handle R&D tax claims for our clients.
Co-design Studies
Co-design studies in a software development environment involve us collaborating with end-users and stakeholders to jointly design and create software applications that meet the needs and preferences of the end-users. The goal of co-design studies is to involve end-users in the design process to ensure that the resulting software application is useful, usable and desirable.
Co-design studies involve a series of iterative design cycles where end-users and stakeholders provide feedback and input to us, the software development team. This involves the following steps:
- Understanding the problem
- Ideation
- Prototyping
- Evaluation
- Implementation
The COM-B Model
The COM-B model is a way to ensure that the solutions we develop for clients and partners result in solid engagement from end-users and therefore return on investment. The COM-B model is a framework that helps explain behaviour and behavioural change, and it has been applied in various fields, including healthcare and public policy. By using the COM-B model, we can gain insights into the factors that influence user behavior and design software that is more user-centered, effective and capable of supporting behavioural change.
R&D Tax Relief
At Blue Tea, we often need to extract technical requirements from our clients’ business requirements, and this usually involves a significant element of Research & Development. Fortunately, the UK government strongly supports R&D, and offers schemes such as R&D Tax Credits that allow eligible organisations to reduce the cost of development and engagement with suppliers and partners like us, provided that the work involved is demonstrably innovative and novel.
We have extensive experience in helping our clients take advantage of these schemes, and we work with credible partners to manage the process from end to end. By doing so, we can help our clients achieve their technical goals more efficiently and effectively, while also maximising their financial benefits.
